3 El presente perfecto del indicativo 1. Used to say what has or hasn’t happened in a period of time up to the present. 2. Used to talk about something that happened very recently. 3. Use the present perfect indicative in Spanish when you would use the “auxiliary” verb “have” in English.

9 El presente progresivo What is it used for? How do you form it? Some verbs have spelling changes in their present participles, especially stem-changing verb: Caer Decir Dormir Leer Mentir Morir Pedir traer

10 El presente progresivo When an object pronoun is used with the present progressive; where do you place the object pronoun? Ej: Alicia is listening to it. (el programa) Ej: John is reading it (el libro). The present progressive can also be used with the verbs andar and seguir. Andar + present participle gives the impression that: someone goes around doing something continuously, sometimes with a slightly negative connotation.

11 El presente progresivo Seguir is a spelling – change verb. Before –e or –i, the stem keeps the gu: sigues. Before –a or –o, the gu changes to g: sigo. Ej: El anda pidiendo favores. Seguir + present participle is used to say that someone keeps on doing something, or is still doing something. Ej: yo sigo viviendo en París.
