2 “Y Changers”  Incluir: to include  Construir: to construct/build  Caer/caerse: to fall down  Creer: to believe  Leer: to read  Oír: to hear *reflexive caer = accidental or unexpected fall/drop (just has more emphasis) they can be used interchangeably.

3 They only change in the bottom 2 forms! So, we have two “types” of Y changers: 1.Double vowel: ee, ae, oi, etc. (caerse, creer, leer, oir) 2. Verbs that end in –uir (incluir, construir, destruir)

4 Reglas específicas  These verbs are all er/ir verbs so they use the er/ir verb endings  íimos  iste  ióieron  But……..  A “y” replaces the “i” ONLY in the él and ellos forms – bottom 2 forms  Changes i – y  Ella -yó instead of -ió  Ellas -yeron instead of -ieron  Regular conjugations in the yo, tú, and nosotros forms yy
