2 TRIGGER PHRASES… The following phrases tell us we will use the FUTURE tense: - Esta noche - El próximo año - La semana que viene - La próxima semana - Mañana - En 2021 - Este fin de la semana - El 28 de mayo, 2014 → Tonight → Next year → Next week →“The week that’s coming” → Tomorrow → In 2021 (future year) →This weekend → May 28 th, 2014 (future date)

3 “WILL” The FUTURE tense is used to tell us what WILL happen in the future. To form the FUTURE TENSE, you add the following endings to the INFINITIVE of the verb (the verb unconjugated): YONOSOTROS TÚVOSOTROS ÉL ELLA USTED ELLOS ELLAS USTEDES -é -á -ás -emos -éis -án

24 There are two ways we can talk about what will happen in the future in both Spanish and English. We just went over the “WILL” version of the FUTURE tense. To create the “I AM GOING TO” future tense, follow the following model: IR in the present tense + the word a + verb in the INFINITIVE 1. Yo voy a jugar en el parque. → I am going to play in the park. 2. Nosotros vamos a ir a un restaurante. → We are going to go to a restaurant. 3. Ellos van a comprar unos zapatos nuevos → They are going to buy some new shoes. 4. ¿Cuándo vas a ir? → When are you going to go?
