Regular –er and –ir verbs

Por ejemplo: 1. comer = to eat 2. beber = to drink 3. ver = to see/watch -ER verbs are verbs that end in ER.

A regular –ER verb functions just like a regular –ar verb. There are 2 easy steps:

1) Drop the –er ending (the stem is left) 2) Add the appropriate ending that matches the subject

ER VERB ENDINGS Yo -o Nosotros (as) -emos Tú -es Vosotros (as) -éis Usted, él, ella -e Ustedes, ellos, ellas -en

VER=to see/watch Ver is irregular in the YO form. Yo veo (I see/watch) The rest of the verb is completely regular! TENER=to have Tener is irregular in most forms!!!! Yo tengo (I have)

PONER=to put/place Poner is irregular in the YO form. Yo pongo (I put/place) HACER=to make/do Hacer is irregular in the YO form. Yo hago (I make/do) The rest of the verbs are completely regular!

CAER=to fall Caer is irregular in the YO form. Yo caigo (I fall) The rest of the verbs are completely regular! TRAER=to bring Traer is irregular in the YO form. Yo traigo (I bring)
