2 TThe conditional tense in Spanish is used just like it is in English- to talk about what would take place under certain circumstances. PPor ejemplo: II w ould attend the concert, but I have too much homework. TThe conditional is also used to soften requests. PPor ejemplo: WWould you please pass the salt?

4 TTo form the conditional tense: IInfinitive form of verb + conditional ending wwe would study… eestudiar EEjemplos: II would live… TThey would buy… YYou would travel to… WWe would eat… PPaco would listen… + íamos= estudiaríamos Viviría … Comprarían … Viajarías… Comeríamos … Paco escuchar ía…

5  I would attend the concert, but I have a lot of homework.  Asistiría al concierto, pero tengo mucha tarea.  Would you please pass the salt?  ¿ Pasarías la sal por favor?

6 SSome verbs have irregular stems in the conditional tense. TThe irregular conditional tense stems are the same as the irregular future tense stems. TThe irregular stems use the same endings as the regular conditional tense verbs.
