Most of the time, not ALL the time, when a noun ends in “A” it is feminine, and when it ends in “O” it is masculine. It is important for you to know the gender of a noun when learning a foreign language, because: it is a vital part of the word, and always included with the word itself, and The adjectives that describe the noun, change with the gender.

In Spanish, all nouns, including things are masculine or feminine. With some exceptions, nouns ending in “o” are masculine, and nouns ending in “a” are feminine. Ex: EL librO LA pizzA
