3 Ejemplos: Yo voy a la clase de Español mañana. Él va a la fiesta esta noche. Mis amigos y yo vamos al partido de fútbol. Juanito y Julia van a un restaurante peruano.

4 The verb ir is usually followed by a.
Note: The verb ir is usually followed by a. When a is placed before the article el, the two words form the contraction al. Ejemplos: Voy al parque. = (I’m going to the park.) Voy a la biblioteca. = (I’m going to the library.)

5 ¿Adónde…? is similar to “To where …?”
Use adónde to mean “where” when there is a verb indicating motion, like ir. Ejemplo: ¿Adónde vas? = (Where are you going?) Voy a la clase. = (I’m going to the class.) Note: ¿Adónde…? is similar to “To where …?”

6 Using ir to talk about the future
If you want to say you are going to do something, use this construction: ir + a + infinitive You must conjugate IR!!!!

7 Ejemplos: Yo voy a comprar cincuenta iPods rosas. = (I’m going to buy 50 pink iPods.) Él va a estacionar el coche en el baño. = (He is going to park the car in the bathroom.)

8 Check Your Knowledge! Yo voy a la fiesta. I go to the party.
We go to the second hand store. Mary goes to Cancún. He is going to win American Idol. José is going to buy a Mustang. Yo voy a la fiesta. Nosotros vamos a la tienda de segunda mano. Mary va a Cancún. Él va a ganar American Idol. José va a comprar un Mustang.
