9 Red de Institutos Nacionales Iberoamericanos de Ingeniería e Investigación Hidráulica. V Foro Mundial del Agua, Estambul, Turquía, 20 de marzo de 2009. 9 National Climate Change Strategy Strategy Objectives: To identify opportunities of the reduction of emissions and to develop mitigation projects; Recognize the vulnerability of the different sectors and competence areas and initiate projects for the development of national and local capacity building on response and adaptation; To propose lines of action, policies and strategies as a basis for developing a Special Climate Change Program. Crosscutting lines in the definition of adaptation strategies Agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fisheries Water Ecosystems Energy, industry, and services Transport and communications infrastructures Population and human settlements

10 Red de Institutos Nacionales Iberoamericanos de Ingeniería e Investigación Hidráulica. V Foro Mundial del Agua, Estambul, Turquía, 20 de marzo de 2009. 10 Key Messages As ever in history, scientific knowledge could help to deal with one of the greather challenges facing humanity. Nevertheless it is necessary a continuous intercation with the policy makers. More funding will be necessary, if scientific institutions will contribute to risk assessment and, must important, to adaptation methods and technologies design.

11 Red de Institutos Nacionales Iberoamericanos de Ingeniería e Investigación Hidráulica. V Foro Mundial del Agua, Estambul, Turquía, 20 de marzo de 2009. 11 Thank you Knowledge and technology for integrated water management
