Estar Spanish has two verbs that are the equivalent of the English “to be”. One such verb is the irregular verb Estar. Estar is used to express location or position, whether is permanent or temporary. 1.Madrid esta en España. Madrid is in Spain. 2.El chico esta en la escuela. The kid is in school. Aquí se habla Español

Estar is used to express mood and physical condition. Example: 1.El abogado está enojado. The lawyer is angry. 2.La señora Jiménez está enferma. Misses Jiménez is sick. Aquí se habla Español

Estar is used to express result of an action. Example: 1.Los niños están de pie. – The children are standing. 2.La audiencia está sentada. – The audience is seated. Aquí se habla Español

Estar is used to in the formation of the progressive tenses. Estar + gerund. The gerund = ing (ando and iendo) Example: – Ellas están corriendo. (They are running.) – Yo estoy cantando. (I am singing.) Aquí se habla Español
