Subject Pronouns: Yo,tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, ellos, ellas, ustedes Reflexive Pronouns: me, te, se, nos, se Direct Object Pronouns: me, te, lo,la, nos, los, las Indirect Object Pronouns: me, te, le, nos, les

3 Direct Object and DO Pronouns What is a direct Object: Answers the question WHO or WHAT is RECEIVING the ACTION. Yo lavé mi carro ayer. Who or what did I wash? Mi carro. Yo lo lavé ayer.

4 Practiquemos No como las verduras mucho. Who or what do I not eat? Las Verduras No las como mucho. Mi amigo trajo a su hermano a escuela ayer. Who or what did my friend bring? Su hermano. Mi amigo lo trajo a escuela ayer.

5 Indirect Objects and IO Pronouns What is an Indirect Object? Answers the question for whom, to whom, for what or to what. Me gusta pizza. To whom or for whom is pizza pleasing? Me!

6 Pratiquemos Ej: Yo lavé el carro por mi padre. For whom did I was the car? Mi padre Yo le lavó el carro por mi padre. ( in Spanish its ok to use the IOP and the IO together in the sentence!) Ej: Él da el libro a Elena. To whom or for whom did he give the book? Elena Él le da el libro.

7 Using the Pronouns together When using both in a sentence the… INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUN goes BEFORE the DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUN I brought it to him yesterday. Yo se lo traje ayer.

8 Hey! Where did the se come from? When the indirect object pronouns le and les are before the direct object pronouns of Lo, la, los and las The le and les change to SE. Mi amigo dio su proyecto a su maestra. Mi amigo se lo dio. (le lo = se lo)

9 Ejemplos Ella vendió flores a los jugadores. Direct Object: flores = las Indirect Oject: los jugadores = les (les las = se las) Ella se las vendió.

10 María y Juan dieron la propina al mesero. Direct Object: la propina = la Indirect Object: el mesero = le María y Juan se la dieron. Ejemplos

11 Practiquemos Yo no tengo los boletos para ti. Yo no te los tengo. Ella debe explicar la lección a mi. Ella me la debe explicar. Ella debe explicármela.
