11 Comparatives- with adjectives In English: Carlos is as tall as Mario. Use as- as Negative characterizes: Carlos is as ugly as Mario In Spanish: Carlos es tan alto como Mario. Use: tan/ como Tan is used before the adjective. Como is used after the adjective Negative characteristics: Carlos es tan feo como Mario.

12 Comparatives- making a negative statement. English: Carlos is not as ugly as Mario. Spanish: Carlos no es tan feo como Mario.
