1 Fondo cultural Social relations are somewhat more formal in Spanish-speaking countries than in the United States, since new acquaintances usually greet one another with a handshake. Friends, however, greet each other with a hug or a kiss on the cheek. How does this compare with the way you greet people in the United States?

3 Objectives Content: Students will make L₁ to L₂ connections when greeting people at different times of day. They will also learn the proper way of introducing oneself in the L₂.
