3 Introduccion.  Compressor used to increase the pressure of a gas (compressive fluid)  Examples:  Increase the preassure for instrument air systems (to get control valves to opérate),  Transport gases such as hydrogen, nitrogen, fuel gas in a chemical plant

4 Centrifugal Compressor

5  Operate by accelerating the gas an coverting the energy to pressure.  Two types of centrifugal compressor:  Single – stage …  Multi – stage … Take the discharge of one stage, And pass it to the suction of an other Stage. (used for high gas flow rate, High discharge pressure)
