GEOGNOSIA has run an AMT (Audio Mageneto-Telluric) survey over a well-known massive sulphide deposit to test how the AMT method works in this kind of envioroments. The MasaValverde deposit was discovered in July It was discovered by the consortium Peñarroya-ADARO, after drilling a gravity anomaly. A total of 19 drillholes were completed between 1986 and 1993 over de anomaly. 13 of the 19 holes intersected massive sulphide and well developed semi-massive/stockwork mineralization. 6 drill-holes more were done to test smaller gravity anomalies around. The average thickness of the massive sulphide intersections is about 70m and the average for stockwork mineralization is 90m. A lot of geophysical surveys has been done over this target, but not all of them has worked sucessfully.
