3 ¿Recuerdas cómo se forma el subjuntivo ? 1.Empezar con la forma “YO” 2.Quitar la “o” 3.Poner las terminaciones opuestas 4.-AR:-e-emos -es-éis -e-en 5.-ER / -IR:-a-amos -as-áis -a-an

5 ¿Recuerdas los 4 ingredientes para hacer una frase con el subjuntivo?: 1)You need a sentence with 2 verbs. The subjunctive would be the second verb. 2) You need those 2 verbs being performed by 2 different subjects. Ex. Me gusta que salgas conmigo. (I like that you go out with me) 3) You need to link both actions with the word “que”. Ex. Necesito que estés en casa a las 4. 4) The first verb has to express either: wishes/emotions/improbability/recommendations/doubt Ex. Dudo que Pedro quiera venir conmigo al cine.

7 To use the subjuntive you need WEIRDO verbs to introduce it... WEIRDO verbs are always followed by QUE... Wishes: quiero/deseo/necesito/ espero que... Emotions: me alegro que... Me de pena que... Impersonal/ Improbable: Es+adjective+que Recommendations: influencing others... Doubt: dudo/ no creo/no me parece cierto que Ojalá: after this Spanish word (means ‘I wish’)

9 Sooooooo, what do we mean by the “subjunctive of emotion”? Simply, that some verbs and expressions that imply emotion are going to be followed by a verb in subjunctive.

10 THESE VERBS AND EXPRESSIONS OF EMOTION TRIGGER THE SUBJUNCTIVE: SOME BACK-TO-FRONT VERBS LIKE: Asustar: to scare. Ex: me asusta que haya tantos accidentes de tráfico. Disgustar: to upset.Ex: me disgusta que los jóvenes coman tanta comida basura Gustar: to like. Ex: me gusta que haya todavia tradiciones tan locas como la Tomatina Molestar: to bother. Ex. Me molesta que los jóvenes tengamos tan mala reputación. Sorprender: to surprise. Ex. Me sorprende que España no tenga un buen sistema educativo

Es extraño que la mujer aun no esté incorporada al 100% en nuestra sociedad Es maravilloso: it’s marvellous. Ex. Es maravilloso que haya tradiciones como la Semana Santa. Es sorprendente: it’s surprising.Ex. Es sorprendente que en el siglo XX aun haya diferencias entre hombres y mujeres. Es triste: it’s sad. Ex. Es triste que tengamos esta situación. Es una lástima: it’s a pity.Ex. Es una lástima que no haya una solución al problema de las drogas. Es una pena: it’s a pity. Ex. Es una pena que nuestra dieta sea tan mala. Tener miedo: to be scared. Ex. Tengo miedo de que la situacion no mejore en el futuro.
