*As with the future, the infinitive is used as the stem for the conditional of regular verbs. We use the conditional, as we do in English, to tell what would take place under certain circumstances. Ej. El asitente de vuelo serviría la comida pero hay una turbulencia. The conditional is also used to soften requests. Ej. ¿me traería una bebida, por favor? ¿se abrocharían ustedes el cintirón de seguridad por favor?
