The College Board has demonstrated a positive correlation between the study of foreign language and improved scores on the SAT. These benefits on the verbal portion of the test outweighed even prolonged study of English. l improves the knowledge of your own language through comparison and contrast with the foreign language l Research indicates that knowing and using two languages reduces your chances of developing dementia, including Alzheimer's Disease. Other studies show that studying languages can improve your memory and slow age-related decline in mental acuity.
