Rules about conjugating Tener Tener is irregular- it is different. Yo form has a g in the conjugation Tu, el, ella, ud, ellos, ellas, uds all have an IE in the spelling. Nosotros does not.

1. Use tener to state things you have Yo tengo dos hermanas I have two sisters. Tu tienes un perro grande. You have a big dog. Ella tiene una chaqueta bonita She has a pretty jacket. Nosotros tenemos libros de espanol. We have Spanish books. Ustedes tienen carros viejos. You all have old cars.

3. Use tener to describe a “physical” state or feeling. hungry – hambrerazon – truth, right thirsty – sedprisa - hurry hot - calor cold - frio - sleepy – sueñoUse tener with these scared – miedophrases. ashamed - vergüenza

4. To state things you have to do To state an action you must do you use tener. In English: I have to dance. In Spanish : Tengo que bailar. The “QUE” connects the form of tener with the action that needs to be done. No accent on the que.
