2 Introducción Imágenes de nuestro mundo
¿Qué tienen en común estas imágenes? ¿Qué está mal en estas imágenes? Methodologies: Case Studies, Comparing and Contrasting Illustrations: Identified by ** in the contents notes. Content: This is Part I of the ABC’s of Culture lesson – the core content. Today we are going to apply worldview!! We’ve been talking about our worldviews. We know we all have them – glasses through which we see the world. We are going to be looking at the root causes of brokenness. Connect Bob’s wholistic ministry sessions – brokenness and God’s intentions with this next session. What is the root cause of brokenness? Lies. The first part of this session we will look at the kind of cultures our worldviews have built. The second part of the session, we will do an exercise that works best when we are in common geographical and culture groups. Let’s move into these groups now. Create three mental images – Images that represent the dualism of Christianity and brokenness Have participants look for what is common in each of these images Darrow’s Illustrations** The USA is colored Christian – Christian everything is available. Women are aborting millions of babies, divorce is common (in the Church and out), death laws that have been passed Remote villages of the Amazon – Christianity swept through these villages, but they are very poor today. The fathers sell their daughters’ sexual services to the other men of the villages. The Christian fathers do this as well. Missions Conference – Celebrating what has been done with missions, we live in the first generation that could see the end of the great commission. Case Study of Rwanda – 100 years ago there where no churches. Missionaries came. Now 80 % of my country are now Christians there was a war that broke out – 1 million were killed – 2 million fled as refugees. Christians killing Christians What is wrong with these images? What happens if we get keep doing evangelism campaigns and we eventually get 100% of the people saved, but there is still hatred, corruption, genocide and poverty – SO WHAT!! Argentina has claimed that 110% of the people of Argentina are Christians. There have been so many evangelistic campaigns that there are more Christians in Argentina than there are people. We have done what we have set out to do!! We have sought to evangelize the world. But we have not discipled nations – we have not taught them to understand the truth of the Kingdom of God and how to live according to His will. What are you doing here in this nation? What are your plans? What fruit will your plans produce? More believers, more converts, bigger churches – Is this the goal? We need to include in our plan – discipling nations and changing our way of thinking – we need to be born again AGAIN. 2

3 Efesios 6:12 ¿Contra qué o quién no es nuestra lucha?
¿Contra qué o quién es nuestra lucha? Describe en tus propias palabras quien es el enemigo. Methodologies: Large Group Bible Exploration Illustrations: Identified by ** in the contents notes. Content: Read Ephesians 6:12 Our struggle is NOT against flesh and blood. Our struggle IS against principalities. The war in Rwanda** was with real flesh and blood; but it was a manifestation of the war in the heavenlies. Some have said that the genocide in Rwanda was where hell bubbled up to the surface. 3

Juan 8:44 Apocalipsis 20:3, 7-8 Methodologies: Large Group Bible Exploration Illustrations: Identified by ** in the contents notes. Content: Read John 8:44 What does this tell us about who Satan is? He is a liar; he is the Father of Lies. Who does he lie to? Individuals What are the consequences of those lies? Enslavement, poverty, impoverishment Explain the nature of lies: Lies – enslave and impoverish us. Give local examples of lies in the culture** - Latin America – Machismo, Hinduism – Ignorance is a virtue Read Revelation 20:3 Usually we read this in context to the end of time. Satan was sent to the great abyss – Why? He was lying to nations. Satan lies to nations and we are to speak truth to the nations. If we do not speak the truth to nations, what will the nations hear? Lies! When a nation hear lies only – it is enslaved and impoverished The foundation of a nation’s destruction is the lies that are found in the nation. Illustration**: When any nation looks for money from the USA or Japan for its development of your nation, you are looking in the wrong place. When you look outside you are believing that your development is based on money That itself is a lie 4
