Está... "Está..." is commonly used to describe the weather... Está lloviendo. (It's raining.) Está nevando. (It's snowing.) Está helado. (It's freezing.) Está granizando. (It's hailing.) Está húmedo. (It's humid.) Está nublado. (It's cloudy.) Sometimes we just use the verb... Llueve. (It rains. It does rain.) Nieva. (It snows. It does snow.)

Hay... "Hay" is used to introduce weather systems as well: Hay tormenta. (There's a storm.) Hay relámpagos. (There's lightning.) Hay trueno. (There's thunder.) Hay niebla. (There's fog.) Hay tornados. (There are tornados.) Hay un huracán. (There's a hurricane.)
