5 En español: to say that you like something, you literally say that something pleases you. So you say: Me gusta... (The verb or noun that follows is pleasing to me) Just like YO is optional and used to emphasize or clarify in present tense conjugations, A mí at the beginning is optional and used to emphasis or clarify who likes the activity or noun that follows. (A mí) me gusta viajar. (Traveling is pleasing to me.) NOTE: The verb ends in AR/ER/IR (the infinitive form) but translates as the -ing form (gerund or present participle) Conversaciones: ( Yo) soy... or (Yo) me llamo... ¿Cómo te llamas tú? ¿Cómo se llama usted? ¿y (and) tú/usted? ¿Qué te/le gusta hacer?
