3 Las reglas…(the rules)  1. -ar and –er verbs have NO stem- change in the preterit! (¡qué buenas noticias!)  2. -ir verbs only stem-change in the 3 rd (third) person (él, ella, Ud. and ellos, ellas, Uds.)  Hint: if you make the verb chart and circle the bottom forms, these are the ones that still stem-change…Basement verbs!
