There is little separation for IT administration of the platform and the workflows. With Jazz the server admin is like and other IT application and the project team can more or less service the project themselves. So Deon, once he’s setup the tools, can have the project teams self manage vs. Deon having to do it for each and every project. Flexible options for owning or renting: With Jazz, agile teams can own the platform, manage the platform, etc or choose to rent a project space (aka collabnet). 6

Work item synch with Team Concert (Jazz) Rational Team Concert includes connectors that allow you to share work items between RTC and CQ. This enables you to deploy RTC to part of your organization while keeping your current investment in CQ and allowing collaboration between the teams. Ensure compliance with fine grained security and access control lists Note: Access control lists were added in 7.0.1, though just completed the work in the Web client in 7.1 so it isn't totally new CQ includes access control lists at the folder level, allowing you to create lists of users that can see or modify public queries. In addition, CQ is now more secure with FIPS compliance and password encryption. Support remote teams with enterprise reports Enterprise reporting provides the ability to report across multiple databases, either from CQ or other Rational products. In addition, this capability is now exposed through the Web client allowing better support for remote teams. Out-of-the-box ALM Schema – jump start complete lifecycle support The new ALM Schema is based on C&RM best practices and enables you to be productive day 1 with CQ supporting the change management lifecyle without extensive customization. Existing customers can easily adopt these best practices by applying the ALM package to their existing schema. Rational ClearCase – New Enhancements Seamless shared project views and filters ClearCase Remote Client in v7.1 includes a new feature which enables the developer to filter the workspace navigator and see only the elements in the ClearCase repository they care about. No more navigating a deep nested hierarchy to find the source and views they work with most. Just pick the elements they want to use and right click and add them to a named filter. Share that filter with your team and all of you can use the same filter view, quickly and easily. Deploy faster with iteration planning with Team Concert (Jazz) ClearCase is integrated with Rational Team Concert using our "connectors" technology. This enables source code to be replicated between a traditional ClearCase environment and our new Jazz based RTC environment. Existing ClearCase customers don't need to make an either or choice, but rather can work together with teams using RTC. 24/7 Global monitoring & server uptime view & React sooner with customizable event settings ClearCase v7.1 adds new Tivoli based technology to our Multisite line up that allow you to collect and monitor your ClearCase servers. It includes monitoring availability, out of disk space and many more situations. Plus you can add custom situations on just about any piece of data that we collect. When the conditions you specify are met, you can customize how and who will be alerted! Agile process support ClearCase Remote Client in v7.1 has added support for typical use-cases used in an Agile development process. Some of the many improvements are: An advance "pending changes" view, which allows the agile developer to quickly reconcile changes between their workspace and the team workspace; recursive add, checkout, and hijacking files with an advanced filtering capability. There are also many new user settings that allow the agile developer to set their own custom behaviors by default. High scalability – Handle 500 users The new Change Management Server for ClearCase and ClearQuest v7.1 is built to scale on Websphere Application Servers. The server included is WAS Express, but the application can also be deployed on full versions of WAS for more advanced functionality and scale. With our new architectural changes, the server is designed to handle the volume of larger user communities.
