3 Gustar- to be pleasing to; to like Interesar- to interest Aburrir- to bore
Me Nos gusta (No) Te interesa + sing. subject/ infinitive Le Les aburre ME GUSTA EL BÉISBOL. - I like baseball. NOS INTERESA LEER. We are interested in reading(to read). LE ABURRE EL INGLÉS. English bores him./ He is bored by English.

Gustar- to be pleasing to; to like Interesar- to interest Aburrir- to bore Me Nos gustan (No) Te interesan + plural subject Le Les aburren ME GUSTAN LOS ZAPATOS. I like the shoes. ¿TE INTERESAN LOS DEPORTES? Do sports interest you?/ Are you interested in sports? LES ABURREN LAS MATEMáTICAS. Math bores them/y’all.

5 No To make a sentence with gustar, aburrir, or interesar negative-
put NO before the indirect object pronoun(me, te, le, nos, les) NO ME GUSTA ESTUDIAR. - I don’t like to study. NO LES INTERESA LA CLASE DE HISTORIA. - History class does not interest them/you all.

6 Clarifying LE & LES A SR. WILL LE GUSTA COMER Le = Him, Her, You(for.)
Les = Them, You(for/pl) To clarify (make clear) what “le” or “les” mean: use a prepositional phrase that starts with “a” Put the prep. phrase at the beginning or end of the sentence. LE GUSTA COMER A SR. WILL. Or A SR. WILL LE GUSTA COMER

7 Prepositional Pronouns- used only in a prepositional phrase
a mí a nosotros a ti a él (a Juan) a ellos (a mis padres) a ella (a la chica) a ellas (a Silvia y a Gloria) a Ud. a Uds. Use a prepositional phrase to clarify le/les or for emphasis- A Mí ME GUSTAN LAS PAPAS FRITAS.

9 Ejemplos I like to dance. Me gusta bailar. Do you like red apples?
¿Te gustan las manzanas rojas? To sing interests them. Les interesa cantar a ellos. We don’t like tests. No nos gustan los examenes.
