2 Theres more than 1 way to talk in the past? ¡¡¡Sí!!! In English too, there are ways other than the simple past tense to say that something happened. Simple past tense: I studied (Preterite) Other ways to express past tense: I used to study, or I was studying (these 2 ideas in the past use a NEW VERB TENSE IN THE PAST!) In Spanish, these ideas are expressed by the imperfect tense. Preterite: Estudié Imperfect: Estudiaba

3 How do we form the imperfect? Regular -ar verbs: trabajaba trabajábamos trabajabas X trabajaba trabajaban Regular -er/-ir verbs: leíaleíamos leías X leíaleían Note that the yo form and the usted/ él/ ella forms are the same.
