2 EQUAL COMPARISONS . . . ADJECTIVES
In the affirmative . . . equal To compare people or things that are ________ to one another, use . . . as + adjective + as = tan + adjective + como Ejemplo: In my school, swimming is as popular as running. En mi escuela, la natación es tan popular como correr In the negative . . . Ejemplo: In your school, swimming is not as popular as running. En tu escuela, la natación no es tan popular como correr. Otros ejemplos: 1. Reading is as important as writing. 2. Your voice is not as good as my voice. Leer es tan importante como escribir Tu voz no es tan buena como mi voz.

To say _______________ or ______________ use “as much as” “as many as” *tanto tanta tantos tantas + noun + como as + noun + as = Ejemplos: In the band there are as many musicians as there are singers in the chorus There are as many photographs of me as my brother. There is as much homework in math as in English. En la banda hay tantos músicos como hay cantantes en el coro Hay tantas fotografías de mí como my hermano. Hay tanta tarea en matemáticas como en inglés. *Note: tanto agrees with gender and number with the what is being compared

En el equipo de fútbol hay tantos estudiantes como en el equipo de hockey. La escuela tiene tantas clases de fotografía como clases de computadoras.
