Shows velocity profile in pipe, velocity is zero right at the wall and is approximately 1.2 times the average velocity in the center of the pipe. The average velocity is approximately 1/8 to 1/10 the diameter. Therefore suggest that the sensor be at least 1/10 diameter of the pipe. Thermatel Instalaciones Incorrectas flanged probe was not long enough for sensor to be in the main flow path. Surprisingly, the switch did work; turbulence in the pipe created eddies which the sensor could detect. The sensitivity had to be adjusted to be very sensitive. This resulted in a long response time to detect a loss of flow. The switch did work - however, this is not a recommended installation Avoid elbows as cavitation can occur

Aceptable Tipo Convencional Correcta Incorrecto Punta Esferica Shows orientation. Probes have flow arrows for direction. Twin tip design not very sensitive to flow orientation. There is little flow blockage. Even if the downstream sensor is heated, the switch will still work Spherical tip has considerable blockage. If the heated sensor is downstream, it will take much more velocity to cool it off Area de muy baja velocidad
