2 cerrar-to close STEM-CHANGING VERBS:
Each infinitive has a stem/root and a verb ending: cerrar-to close Sometimes the stem of the verb needs to be changed to sound better, thus the name stem-changing verbs

3 FOUR TYPES OF STEM-CHANGING VERBS:
E-IE O-UE E-I U-UE

E-IE E-IE verbs change as follows: cerrar=to close Change the e to an ie when conjugating in all subjects except: Nosotros cierro, cierras, cierra, cerramos, cierran

5 E-IE VERBS TO KNOW: cerrar=to close comenzar=to begin empezar=to begin
pensar=to think entender=to understand perder=to lose querer=to want mentir=to lie preferir=to prefer sentir=to feel (sorry)

27 REMINDER! Using two verbs together…
When using two verbs “back to back” together in the same sentence, remember…conjugate the FIRST, leave the second as an INFINITIVE. Ex. She can go to school today. Conjugate can, leave go as an infinitive.
