3 Expressing the future in Spanish:
There are 3 ways to express the future in Spanish: Use the present tense Asisto al partido de básquetbol el viernes. I’m attending the basketball game on Friday. Use ir + a + infinitive Voy a tener una prueba el veinticinco de marzo. I’m going to have an quiz on the 25th of March. Use the future tense Yo viajaré a Australia en el futuro. I will travel to Australia in the future.

4 El futuro: The Future is what will or shall happen.
In English this is made up of 2 verbs (auxiliary verb will or shall + main verb), but in Spanish it is a simple tense made up of one word.

5 Son las doce… Yo hablaré con ella. Los doctores verán a los enfermos.
Look at the following sentences using the future tense and see if you can figure out how it is conjugated when working with regular verbs: Yo hablaré con ella. Los doctores verán a los enfermos. Nosotros aprenderemos a hablar español. Tú vivirás en California.

Future endings: ALL verbs use these endings: -emos -ás -éis -án

7 Conjugations: REGULAR VERBS
Add the future ending to the infinitive. Examples: I will study. Yo estudiaré. They will read. Ellos leerán. We will travel. Nosotros viajaremos.

8 Conjugations: IRREGULAR VERBS
Add the future ending to the irregular stem/root. (you just need to memorize these.) Irregular stems: Decir  Dir- Querer Querr- Hacer Har-  Saber Sabr- Poder Podr-  Salir  Saldr- Poner  Pondr- Tener  Tendr- Haber  Habr- Venir Vendr-

9 Examples: He will want. Él querrá. I will be able to. Yo podré.
They will know. Ellos sabrán.
