3 Rules: adjectives in Spanish
Adjectives are almost always placed after the noun. We will not see any of the exceptions yet. Example: El chico alto. = The tall boy. noun adj adj. noun

4 Rule #2 Adjectives must match the noun in gender.
A feminine noun needs a feminine adjective. A masculine noun needs a masculine adjective.   

5 To change from Masculine to Feminine.
1. Adjectives that end in -o: change the -o to -a. Example: El chico alto La chica alta. The tall boy The tall girl. 2. Adjectives that end in -e or in a consonant: remain the same for both forms. Example: El chico inteligente La chica inteligente. El examen difícil La clase difícil.

6 Rule #3 Adjectives must match the noun in number.
A singular noun needs a singular adjective. A plural noun needs a plural adjective.   

7 To change from singular to plural
1. Adjectives that end in a vowel: add an -s. Example: El chico alto. Los chicos altos. La casa roja. Las casas rojas. 2. Adjectives that end in a consonant: add -es. Example: El libro azul. Los libros azules. La clase difícil. Las clases difíciles.

1: Articles go before the noun. 2: Articles must match the noun in gender (masculine/feminine). 3: Articles must match the noun in number (singular/plural).
