OBJECTIVOS: TLW breakdown and analyze the proper usage of the future tense in spoken and written form. TLW express actions that have yet to occur using the future tense. The simple future tense is used to express actions that have yet to occur. *THERE ARE NO STEM-CHANGES IN THE FUTURE TENSE!* 2. Key words for the simple future tense are “will”, “shall”, & “going to.” Sometimes, you will see a year or a time period in the future (ejs. In 2028, Next week, Next Monday, etc.) 3. There is only ONE SET OF ENDINGS in the future tense for ALL verbs; -ar, -er, and –ir. Here are the endings for the future tense: Future tense -ar, -er, & -ir verb endings: yo-é tú- ás *La tercera persona singular*: él, ella, Ud.-á nosotros-emos *La tercera persona plural*: ellos, ellas, Uds.-án 4. In order to form the future tense, follow this 1 step: a. take the WHOLE infinitive and add the appropriate ending. 5. There are 12 irregulars in the future tense. They each have an IRREGULAR STEM: 1. caber-to fit: cabr valer-to be worth: valdr- 2. decir-to say/to tell: dir venir-to come: vendr- 3. hacer-to do/to make: har- 4. haber-to have (aux.): habr- 5. poder-can/to be able: podr- 6. poner-to put/to place: pondr- 7. querer-to love/to want: querr- 8. saber-to know (fact/info.): sabr- 9. salir-to leave/to go out: saldr- 10. tener-to have: tendr- Accent mark in all forms EXCEPT nosotros! In 2020, we will travel to The Dominican Republic. -En dos mil veinte, nosotros viajaremos a La República Dominicana. Tomorrow, she shall visit the National Civil Rights Museum. -Mañana, ella visitará El Museo de Los Derechos Civiles You (fam.) will change the oil next weekend. -Tú cambiarás el aceite el fín de semana próximo. *EJMEPLOS CON LOS VERBOS IRREGULARES* I will tell you the answer later. -Yo te diré la respuesta luego. 2. Next Saturday, she will come to the party. -El sábado próximo, ella vendrá a la fiesta. I shall do the laundry tomorrow. -Yo haré la colada mañana. We will not be able to attend the wedding next month. -Nosotros no podremos asistir la boda el mes próximo.
