3 “uv” verbs

4 estar (was/were) yo estuve nosotros estuvimos
tú estuviste vosotros estuvisteis él/ella/Ud. estuvo ellos/ellas/Uds. estuvieron

5 tener (had) yo tuve nosotros tuvimos tú tuviste vosotros tuvisteis
él/ella/Ud. tuvo ellos/ellas/Uds. tuvieron

6 andar (walked around/wandered)
yo anduve nosotros anduvimos tú anduviste vosotros anduvisteis él/ella/Ud. anduvo ellos/ellas/Uds. anduvieron

7 The Preposition “Por” Use “por” with the verb andar to mean “around” or “through.” Yo anduve por el andén. I wandered around the platform. Lizbeth anduvo por la ciudad de Santo Domingo. Lizbeth walked through the city of Santo Domingo.

8 “u” verbs

9 poner (put, placed) yo puse nosotros pusimos
tú pusiste vosotros pusisteis él/ella/Ud. puso ellos/ellas/Uds. pusieron

10 poder (managed to) yo pude nosotros pudimos
tú pudiste vosotros pudisteis él/ella/Ud. pudo ellos/ellas/Uds. pudieron

11 Ejemplos con Poder Yo pude parar el carro. Yo no pude parar el carro.
I managed to stop the car. (after trying) I couldn’t stop the car. (I tried, but failed.)

12 saber (found out) yo supe nosotros supimos
tú supiste vosotros supisteis él/ella/Ud. supo ellos/ellas/Uds. supieron

13 Ejemplos con Saber Adela supo del viaje a Madrid anoche. Mateo y yo no supimos el número del andén. Adela found out about the trip to Madrid last night. Mateo and I did not find out the platform number.

14 “i” verbs

15 hacer (made, did) yo hice nosotros hicimos
tú hiciste vosotros hicisteis él/ella/Ud. hizo ellos/ellas/Uds. hicieron

16 venir (came) yo vine nosotros vinimos tú viniste vosotros vinisteis
él/ella/Ud. vino ellos/ellas/Uds. vinieron

17 Querer (tried/refused)
yo quise nosotros quisimos tú quisiste vosotros quisisteis él/ella/Ud. quiso ellos/ellas/Uds. quisieron

18 Ejemplos con querer Alicia quiso ayudar a Berto.
Juliana y Ki no quisieron ayudar a Khristian. Alicia tried to help Berto. Juliana and Ki refused to help Khristian.
