5 When you have 2 verbs next to each other:
You conjugate the first verb. The second verb stays in the infinitive= Keep the --AR, --ER, --IR ending

9 Common Verbs Used in Double Verb Construction: TRANSLATE the sentences
¿Puedes ir? 1. Poder (UE-to be able to) = Can you go? Debes estudiar. 2. Deber (should)= You should study. Prefiero caminar. 3. Preferir (IE-to prefer) = I prefer to walk. 4. Querer (IE-to want) = We want to play. Queremos jugar. 5. Pensar (IE-to plan/think about)=We plan to go. Pensamos ir. 6. Necesitar (to need) = I need to practice. Necesito practicar. 7. Tener que (IE-to have to)=You have to speak Sp. Tienes que hablar español. Vamos a celebrar. 8. Ir a (to be going to/”Let’s”)= Let’s celebrate. 9. Acabar de (to have just)= I just ate. Acabo de comer.

11 Verbs like gustar also follow this pattern:
I like to learn Spanish. A mí me gusta aprender español. You love (encantar) to talk with your friends. A ti te encanta hablar con tus amigos. They would like (gustaría) to visit Spain. A ellos les gustaría visitar España.
