3 The “basic” future tense
We use the simple future tense for things we are certain to happen in the future. We know exactly when they are going to happen. Te voy a comprar un regalo para tu cumpleaños esta noche. I will buy you a gift for your birthday tonight. Linda me va a llamar manaña. Linda will call me tomorrow.

We can also use the future tense to speculate on events. Who could it be? What could they do? Who could’ve done it? Where could she have gone?
