“to please” is the verb “me” is the indirect object In English: “I” is the subject “like” is the verb “to read” is the direct object

3 The word order is actually “backwards”:
En Español…: The word order is actually “backwards”: The indirect object comes first: Me Then the verb: gusta Finally the subject of the verb: leer. Make it negative by adding “no” at the beginning.

8 When the individual who is being pleased is in the 3rd person or we want to add specificity to our statement we include the indirect object or its pronoun.
