Fortalecer el compromiso que debe tener nuestra Universidad con el “Desarrollo Social y Económico de Chile”, todo ello basado en un profundo sentido de responsabilidad y ética que sustente estos objetivos y que privilegie los aportes de todos, por sobre el exagerado individualismo que ha invadido nuestra sociedad, Nuestro Legado es ejemplar Nuestro deber es fundacional Hacer crecer e inspirar el “cariño y sentido de pertenencia” de los sansanos hacia la UTFSM y por supuesto, el “legado emprendedor y solidario” de don Federico Santa María. Fomentar el compromiso que tenemos como Institución y como exalumnos con “nuestros estudiantes desvalidos meritorios” USM Prestigio y Certificación Vamos al “más alto nivel” Defender y Aumentar el Prestigio de nuestra Universidad y aspirar “siempre” al máximo nivel de “Acreditación”. La calidad de la formación técnica y científica de nuestros estudiantes, Y el liderazgo de nuestra UTFSM entre las Instituciones de formación técnica y de Ingeniería en Chile y el Mundo.
