2 Present Progressive We use the present progressive tense when we want to emphasize that something is happening right now.

3 Present Progressive Present Progressive in Spanish is a complex verb form that tell what is happening right now. It consists of a helping verb “estar” and a participle. The participle is formed by adding either “-ando” (for –ar verbs) or “-iendo” (for –er and –ir verbs) to the stem of the verb.

4 The conjugation of estar is:
estoy estás está estamos están

5 Present Progressive Let’s do an -AR verb in the present progressive.

7 Present Progressive To make the present participle, Use the endings:
iendo for -er / -ir verbs ando for -ar verbs

8 Present Progressive Ellos comen ensaladas. They eat salads.
They are eating salads.
