The most basic form of a verb. In English, infinitives have the word “to” in front of them. (to swim, to read, to write) In Spanish, infinitives are only one word, and always end in : “ar”, “er”, and “ir” (nadar, leer, escribir)

8 Negatives ¿Te gusta cantar? Do you like to sing?
To make a sentence negative in Spanish, you usually put a no in front of the verb or expression. *Ejemplo:* No me gusta leer I don’t like to read. 2. To answer a question negatively in Spanish you often use no several times. ¿Te gusta cantar? Do you like to sing? No, no me gusta cantar No, I don’t like to sing. 3. In Spanish, you might use one or more negatives after answering “no”. ¿Te gusta ir a la escuela? Do you like to go to school? No, no me gusta nada ir a la escuela No, I don’t like it at all.
