2 Gustar = to be pleasing to
The verb gustar does not translate well into English. Gustar = to be pleasing to In English, we would say, “like.” Ejemplo: In Spanish we say: Bachata music is pleasing to me. but in English,we actually say I like bachata music.

3 Indirect Object Pronouns
Gustar is used with indirect object pronouns not subject pronouns. Indirect Object Pronouns Singular me (me) te (you, familiar) le (you - formal/him/her) Plural nos (us) os (you all familiar - Spain) les (you - formal/them)

4 ¿Gusta or gustan? You must look at what follows the verb to decide whether to use the third person singular (gusta) or the third person plural (gustan) form of the verb. Me gusta el helado. Me gusta leer novelas. Me gustan las fresas.

5 Práctica con Gustar You (fam) like chocolate. A tí te gusta chocolate.
Fideo likes dogs. We like to dance. Yulior and Angel don’t like homework. You all (for) don’t like to clean. A tí te gusta chocolate. A Fideo le gustan los perros. A nosotros nos gusta bailar. A Yulior y Angel no les gusta tarea. A Uds. no les gusta limpiar.

6 Other verbs like GUSTAR
The following verbs are conjugated just like gustar. encantar to love, like a lot, faltar to lack, be missing; to be in need of fascinar to fascinate, to be fascinated by interesar to interest; to be interested by importar to care about; to matter, to be important to doler to hurt (something hurts me) *Remember doler has a stem-change (duele, duelen)
