3 How to determine a noun’s gender
We can determine a noun’s gender & number by looking at its ARTICLE. (The article is the little word right before the noun.) Articles: Masculine = el & los Feminine = la & las Singular = el & la Plural = las & los

4 So, we have 4 different combinations

6 What about Adjective Agreement?
All Adjectives Must agree in NUMBER & GENDER with the Nouns they are modifying!

7 Adjective Agreement Adjective Endings: El  O El chico es guapo.
La  A La chica es guapa. Los  OS Los chicos son guapos. Las  AS Las chicas son guapas.

8 Adjective Agreement How to make an adjective feminine?
If ends in O change O  A If ends in L or E  stays the same (no change) If ends in R  add A

9 Ejemplos La Señora Schoolcraft es castaña. Castaño  Castaña
La Señora Schoolcraft es inteligente. Inteligente = Inteligente (no change) La Señora Schoolcraft es trabajadora. Trabajador  Trabjadora

10 How to make words plural?
If a word ends in a consonant  add “es” la mujer  las mujeres If a word ends in a vowel  add “s” la chica  las chicas *Don’t forget to change the article as well!
