Una boda azteca The bride and groom usually had little say in who they married. Fortune tellers, called cihuatlanque, worked between the two families to arrange the marriage. On the day of the wedding, the bride would decorate her arms and legs with red feathers, and her face would be painted with a yellow pigment.

After the families walked through the streets singing and carrying torches, the bride and groom would meet at their new home. Once they entered their new home, they would sit on a straw mat and the cihuatlanque would tie their blouses together symbolizing their union. Then the families had a large feast to celebrate.

Conexión con una boda moderna
