¿Porqué estamos aquí? – Un poco de historia

Not many people know this, but Eyeblaster was actually set up with the idea of delivering voice and video to e-commerce sites. When the dotcom bubble crashed, and all our prospective clients started going out of business, we had to change strategy, and decided to focus on the online advertising space. Use of video online has humble beginnings. I managed to trace it back to 2002 when…. While Eyeblaster and a few of our competitors have been making steady and significant technological advances on the ability to compress and stream video efficiently and without the need for plug-ins, takeup within the industry has been hampered by 2 major factors: 1. reach (the number of people on a fast enough connection) and 2. the belief that the web is predominantly a direct response medium and does not justify brand spend. has seen a major change in both of these factors… Support for video in all formats, proliferation of suppliers, more video being used Ways people use video (examples) 2005 – 40% of ads include video (20% in 2004) 2006 – free broadband (show image) So for these and other reasons, we feel that video advertising has reached a ‘tipping point’ and rich media ads using video will grow significantly over the next couple of years. If a picture tells a 1000 words, the motion picture tells them better, and the interactive motion picture allows the audience to talk back. The missing link right now is convincing advertisers to increase their online ad production budgets. Implications on the advertising industry going forward? Will video become the preferred medium for advertising ideas on the web? What are the implications of IPTV? What are the implications on traditional and digital agencies? We have been investing heavily in video related technology since late 2004, and are very pleased to be able to preview the next step in the evolution of online video: Video Studio.
