Primero y tercero Primero y tercero are a little different than the others. When they precede a singular masculine noun (such as el hijo), they drop the –o ending. Ejemplo: el primer hijo, el tercer hijo

Los ordinales en español Just like with other describing words in Spanish, you have to change the ordinal according to the noun it is paired with. Ejemplo: La primera hija, el segundo hijo.
