3 ¿Masculino o femenino? In Spanish, nouns (objects or things) are either masculine or feminine. Nearly all nouns that end in –o are masculine. Nearly all nouns that end in –a are feminine. el libro = the book la ventana = the window el libro = the textbook el cuaderno = the exercise book la puerta = the door la silla = the door

4 ¿Singular o plural? To make a noun a plural – you normally just add an s There are some exceptions.If the noun ends in a consonant, add -es. If the noun ends in a z, change it to a c and add es. libro = book libros = books ventana = window ventanas = windows móvil = mobile móviles = mobiles ordenador = computer ordenadores = computers lápiz = pencil lápices = pencils
