Tener = to have Tener is a verb in Spanish that means to have and it is used with age because in Spanish we say that someone has so many years old instead of is…years old. Tener has to be changed with the subject (person) of the sentence to say who is so many years old. There are 5 different forms of Tener to use to express ages.

Pronombres (pronouns) In Spanish a pronoun replaces a person’s name. There are 9 pronouns we use: Singular persons: Plural persons: Yo = I nosotros = we Tú = you (familiar) Él = he ellos = them (m) Ella = she ellas = them (f) Ud. = you (formal) Uds. = all of you
