Primero… Let’s start by reviewing what you already know… Pronouns: menos teos leles

Gustar + infinitive GUSTAR + infinitive me gustanos gusta te gustaos gusta le gustales gusta **the infinitive follows gusta in this form** Me gusta correr. (To run is pleasing to me.) Nos gusta pasear en el parque. Les gusta escribir las novelas.

Ejemplos: I like to study.  Me gusta estudiar. We like to write and to read.  Nos gusta escribir y leer. She doesn’t like to practice sports.  No le gusta practicar deportes. When we are liking things that are verbs….we use “gusta”! Verbs count as ONE! 100 verbs…

Emphasis (“A” stuff) nameme gusta.. a + noun + (no)te+ gustan … pronounle, etc. You only use “A stuff” when using GUSTAR – not other verbs!!! A mí A ti A él A ella A ud. A Bob A la chica A nosotros (as) A vosotros (as) A ellos A ellas A uds. A Bob y Jane A los estudiantes When you want to emphasize or identify the person you are talking about, use:

GUSTAR works the same way, you’ll just have this new “a stuff” at the beginning. Old way: Me gusta correr. New way: A mí me gusta correr.

Le gusta leer. Could mean… He likes She likes You (formal) like BUT…”A ella le gusta leer” is more specific.

Now go back to p.10 and add the correct “a stuff” to the beginning of the sentence. When finished, put pg. 10 on stool and start tarea. “A Stuff” page 1-8 DUE Tuesday.

NEVER… gustogustamos gustasgustáis gustagustan Gustar does not conjugate like other verbs! It’s WHAT is being liked, not WHO is liking it that determines the conjugation!
