Lesson 3 Usage Common and Uncommon

Común means common. It is an adjective and must agree in number with the noun it describes. El queso es una comida común. Cheese is a common food. Los laboradores son perros comunes. Labradors are common dogs. Las cucarachas son muy comunes. Cockroaches are very common.

To say uncommon or rare we say poco común. Los ojos verdes son poco comunes. Green eyes are uncommon. El rubí es una joya poco común The ruby is an uncommon jewel. La panda es un animal muy poco común. The panda is a very uncommon (rare) animal.
