Expectations for the class. Expectativas para la clase. Arrive on time to school (7:30 am). Llegar a tiempo a la escuela ( 7:30 am). Respect each other and school property. Respetar a cada uno de nosotros y las cosas de la escuela. Students are responsible for their school work and homework. Los estudiantes son responsables por su trabajo de la escuela y tarea.

Homework/Tarea Homework has to be done daily. La tarea se tiene que hacer diariamente. Every Monday a homework sheet for the week will be given in the notebook. Cada lunes una hoja de tarea para la semana será entregada en el cuaderno.

Homework/Tarea Homework includes: reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and word studies. La tarea incluye: lectura, escritura, matemáticas, ciencias, estudios sociales y estudio de palabras.

Homework/Tarea Reading: Students are expected to read (and/or be read to daily). Parents this is a special time to share and create lasting bonds and beautiful memories. Lectura: Se espera que los estudiantes lean (o lean con padres)a diario. Padres este debe ser una buena experiencia para formar hermosos recuerdos.

Homework/Tarea Writing: Students have writing assignments everyday. They must write it in their homework notebook. Escritura: Los estudiantes deben escribir diariamente. Deben hacer su escritura en sus cuadernos de tarea. Math: Homework will be assigned everyday. Monday-Thursday. Matemáticas: La tarea será asignada diariamente (lunes-jueves).

Homework and life/Tarea y la vida Word Study: Daily work using words of the week. Please look at the relationship between the words. If they are cognates, (words that are similar in English and Spanish) or very different point that out. That is the heart of our program and it is how they will acquire their new language quickly and efficiently. When you ask them about it, you will be connecting school and home. That helps to empower them as learners and define how they view themselves in school. We are setting them up to be lifelong learners. Estudio de Palabras: Trabajo diario usando las palabras de la semana. Por favor vea la relacion entre las palabras. Si son cognados (palabras semejantes en Ingles y Español) señalalo. Eso es la corazon de nuestra programa. Eso es como van a adquirir su nuevo idioma de forma rapida y eficiente. Cuando se les pregunta sobre el tema, será realizado la conexion entre la escuela y el hogar. Esto ayuda a empoderlas como estudiantes y definir como van a verse a sí mismos en la escuela. Estamos estableciendo que les permitió llegar a definirse a sí mismos como aprendices de por vida.

Dual Language/Lenguaje Dual Dual language is a special program with many advantages for your child. Lenguaje Dual es un programa muy especial con muchas ventajas para su hijo(a) Your child will learn another language in a way that will give them many other skills and advantages. Studies show that students who participate in Dual language programs display strengths on standardized tests for decades. We are only just beginning to understand all of the brain benefits of this “whole brain” method of instruction. Su hijo(a) aprenderá otra idioma de una manera que les dará muchas otras habilidades y ventajas. Los estudios muestran que los estudiantes que participan en programas de lenguaje dual mostrar fortalezas en las pruebas estandarizadas durante muchos años. Apenas estamos empezando a comprender los beneficios cerebrales de este método ( cerebro entero) de la instrucción.

Parent Support/Apoyo del Padre/Madre Read with your child daily, help them by asking questions about the reading. Who is in the story? What is happening? What evidence do you have? Pueden leer con su hijo diariamente, ayudenlo haciendo preguntas de la lectura. ¿Quién esta en la historia? ¿Qué está pasando? ¿Qué evidencia tiene de eso? In writing ask them to read their stories to you, to add details. En lectura hagan que les lean sus historias, que tengan detalles. In Math, you can use objects or drawing . En matemáticas ustedes les pueden ayudar usando el libro de referencia, o haciéndoles preguntas de como resolvieron el problema.

Privacy/Intimidad As we share pictures and videos with you, often other students will be included. Please be careful not to post pictures to social media of other students. Al compartir fotos y videos con ustedes, a menudo otros estudiantes serán incluidos. Por favor, tenga cuidado de no publicar las fotos o videos de los otros estudiantes por los medios de comunicación social.
