Conjugar You conjugate verbs to give them tense (present, past, future) and form (I, you, we). Every sentence MUST have a conjugated verb. To conjugate a verb take the stem of the infinitive and add the correct ending to reflect the subject and tense. In Spanish there are 3 types of regular verbs - ar - er - ir.

Every verb has 2 parts: STEM + ENDING Hablar = habl- Mirar = mir- Practicar= practi- Estudiar = estudi- Trabajar = trabaj- Cocinar = cocin- Mirar = mir- Escuchar = escuch- Jugar = jug- Presentar = present- Comprar = compr-

Los Pronombres Personales (Subject Pronouns) Singular yo tú él / ella / Ud. Plural nosotros vosotros ellos / ellas / Uds.

To form the present tense: Take the – ar – off the infinitive and add the appropriate ending to match the subject of the sentence. yo - o nosotros(as) - amos tú - as vosotros(as) - áis él / ella/ ud. - a ellos/ ellas / uds. - an

Each verb form in Spanish can convey three different ideas in English. You interpret the meaning from context.
