CONCLUSIONS LA is a region with a half billion inhabitants, a great racial and ethnic, as well as level of urbanization and economic situation diversity, therefore can not be analyzed globally in terms of public health Between 30 to 40% of the LA population unknown to be hypertensive, and only between 20 to 30% are on target blood pressure Over 20% of LA have Metabolic Syndrome, its presence is associated with increased target organ damage Central obesity is the most prevalent risk factor of the Metabolic Syndrome in LA, its presence is the strongest predictor of cardiovascular events
